Trying to get a newborn to fit into a car seat can be an interesting experience.

The Travelbud can help.

Car seats come in three main types:

Infant Carriers (infants 5 to 20 pounds) 
rear facing only
Convertible Car Seats (5 to 40+ pounds) 
rear and forward facing
Convertible Car Seat - Booster Seat Combinations
(weights for these seats vary tremendously)

The Travelbud comes in two main sizes:

    Small and Medium 
for Infant Carrier, Car Seat & Booster Combinations
Additional cushions can be added

Sizing is based on how the Travelbud fits into a car seat because this is where the fit is most critical.

In General:

• Small for Infant Carriers
• Medium for Convertible Car Seats & Booster combination seats

The small and medium Travelbud are
somewhat interchangable depending on
the car seat and the size of the child.

• Small fits infant carriers and convertible car seats with a harness height of nine (9") inches or less. The Travelbud can be moved up to a higher harness setting. Fit for the lowest harness height to be used.
  
• Medium fits car seats with a harness height of nine (9") or more. It will fit the convertible car seats (5 to 40 pounds rear/forward facing) and some infant carriers (5 to 20 pound rear facing).
  
  Special Note: For newborns going into a
  convertible car seat, the Travelbud helps
  keep infants positioned properly behind
  abdominal or T shields.

If the Travelbud is not going to be used in a car seat we recommend a medium for newborns. Both sizes have a wide variety of uses for infants as they grow.

Great when an infant is just starting to sit up.

A second strap is provided to help position younger
infants as they grow and want to sit up.

The Travelbud is three cushions and two straps. They can be used together or separated depending on the need. The cushions attach with Velcro and can be used in seated equipment or on flat surfaces. On flat surfaces the Travelbud can be used in a wide variety of ways.

The Travelbud can be used from birth and has no weight restrictions. It can be used with a child until they no longer have a need.

Our children, now three and five, continue to use their Travelbud in the car seat for support, in the shopping cart for comfort and in places like their lawn chairs and on the floor for watching TV.

It was first made for a camping trip and has been field tested by my Travelbuds. The Travelbud has been to China, Australia, Germany and elsewhere. Send us a photo and let us know where your adventures take you and your Travelbuds.

The Travelbud can be washed and dried by machine. We recommend the use of soaker pads because they are much easier to wash. The small soaker pad fits up the middle, ideal for a bed and a medium soaker pad covers the Travelbud for a great change table.

When ordering a Travelbud specify the size (small or medium), color (primary, pastel or earth tones) and print style whether it is for a boy or girl (we also have prints for the soon to be born).
